About

I’m a non-profit leader and community builder based in Toronto with a background that spans adult education, digital literacy, and social enterprises.

I love the arts and have spent years working on creative projects (sometimes successfully). I’m also more of an indoor person who is slowly being convinced otherwise, mostly through good company and the occasional hike.

Professionally, I’m the Executive Director of Free Geek Toronto, a social enterprise that advances digital inclusion and circular economy principles through technology reuse. Since taking on the role in 2017, I’ve helped the organization grow significantly, increasing revenue, building a more sustainable funding model, and developing a strong team of staff and volunteers who are doing genuinely meaningful work.

I’ve had the opportunity to bring that work to broader audiences: as a witness before Canada’s Special Senate Committee on the Charitable Sector, at the 2021 World Circular Economy Forum, and at various other conferences on digital inclusion and community technology. I also serve on the boards of the Revue Film Society and TorontoRPG, and run digital skills workshops through the Toronto District School Board.

Before Free Geek Toronto, I worked in adult education and digital storytelling, helping people use technology to tell their own stories and access resources in their communities. That thread, technology as a tool for empowerment, not just efficiency, still runs through everything I do.
